DirectLAMP reactions occur at 63-65°C, which can be easily achieved with a small oven or water bath. And because it's a colorimetric LAMP, you can read the test results with the naked eye. No color change indicates a negative result, while a pink-to-yellow color change indicates a positive result. With these unique features, DirectLAMP could make using colorimetric LAMP for molecular testing and diagnosis at point-of-need, such as in a doctor's office, out in the field, or even at home, a reality.​
